The club was first founded in 1983 by Geoff Beglen. In 2000, at which point the women's rowing program transitioned into a varsity athletic team. The club continued to serve the community on a smaller scale until 2017 when the program was dissolved due to lack of funding & coaching.
The rowing club was re-founded in 2023 with the initiative of William Cesaretti, a passionate rower wanting to share his love with students at Indiana University. With the help of Kaan Demirtas, Olivia Shedivy, Ella Harper, and Connor Rink the rowing club was formed. The rowing club is part of the Club Sports Federation (CSF), giving the club access to various facilities, mentors, and funding opportunities.
Dale England Rowing Center
We are fortunate to have access to a portion of the Dale England Rowing Center on Lake Lemon. Built in 2015, the boathouse houses both the Indiana University Women’s Rowing team’s fleet and our club’s fleet of shells. We have our own dedicated boat bay, which allows us to store up to six eights, 32 oars, and additional equipment. The space also serves as a regular site for our erg training sessions, making it a central hub for on and off the water preparation.
